Lori grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania without any dreams to speak of. One day, her family took a summer vacation to Orange County, California. Lori fell in love with the beaches, city life, and sunshine! She dreamed of one day moving there. As life would have it, she had many turns, peaks, and valleys and after nine years her dream came true, and she moved to California! She is now living the dream and helping other to do the same through financial planning and literacy.

My guest today is Lori Friedman, owner of a full-service financial agency, an engineering company that her husband, Kevin runs, and they are active real estate investors too. Lori is a person of high integrity, invests and plans out her and her family’s future just as she helps her clients with. She feels that a person in the financial and real estate fields should be owners of the items that they are educating people about. Lori and her husband Kevin have been screwed over by the financial services industry and this has empowered Lori to drive further into this industry to help protect other people from this industry. Financial literacy is the key to people’s well-being and wealth.
Lori understands that people’s complete financial future depends on their understanding of how money works. Lori works with people who want to understand how money works, who want to get on a firm financial foundation for what it means to them and who do not want financial chaos in their future. What makes Lori different then other financial coaches out there is that she walks on the financial path with her clients so that they know they have mentor who will be with them the whole way. She wants her clients to win at the money game and their future.

Ardena Brooks, for the past 17 years, is the CEO and Founder of Designs by Ardena, a photographic art, graphic design, and print service located in Inglewood, CA. Ardena is originally from Washington D.C. but has lived in Los Angeles County for over forty years. Dr. Lynn shares her life struggles with money believing she could always make more of it. One day that all changed. She can out of the ashes and now teaches others how they can too.
About my Guest
My guest today is Lynn Carrillo, who has earned many titles over her life. Lynn is a Passionate Agent w/ New York Life helping individuals and business owners maximize their benefits and prepare for retirement. She is a mom, a sister, a daughter, a wife, and a business owner, but it was when she became a widow that her life took a downturn she never saw coming. Lynn thought there was always time—time to save, time to prepare. It was the sudden death of her husband at the age of forty-one that not only destroyed her mentally and physically but also financially. Without warning, Lynn had to shift from the comforts of being in a dual-income family to the hard hustle of being a single mom with a grieving teenage son, all without a financial parachute.
Lynn couldn’t find decent work and was forced to survive on the scraps thrown to her by the welfare system. Selling everything they owned just to keep a roof over their heads, with only two weeks left before they faced eviction and just steps away from living in their car, hope finally arrived. Lynn was offered a position with a promising company, but there was a catch. This life raft was out of state away from everything and everyone she knew. This choice would force her to be completely on her own.
Her story is about what happens when you are not prepared and the traumas you face if you choose to live life paycheck to paycheck. It’s also a story of hope and how Lynn rebuilt her life and even found love again.

My guest today is one of our authors for The Impact of One Voice, a book collaboration where authors share their voice, story, and message is Dr. Tom Amberson. Dr. Amberson shares his life growing up with depression, becoming a psychologist, and surviving cancer as an adult. About my Guest
Dr. Tommy Amberson (also known as Tommy Lemonade), a clinical psychologist in private practice in Southern California, with over 35 years of helping individuals through life’s valleys, as well as helping them gain greater success in their business careers and personal lives.
He earned his B.A. from Bethel College, St. Paul MN. In southern California he obtained his Master’s degree from Rosemead Graduate School of Professional Psychology and obtained his Doctorate in Psychology from Biola University. As part of his professional training, he did his APA approved internship at Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Hospital, in Loma Linda, CA.
In 1987 he was selected as an Outstanding Young Man of America in recognition for outstanding professional achievement, superior leadership ability and exceptional service to the community. He currently is Vice President of the local chapter of Christian Business Professionals, a networking group. He enjoys his family and friends as well as his dog Lucky and cat Taz. In his spare time, he started Tommy’s Lemonade, an organic fresh squeezed lemonade business. “Remember when life gives you lemons, have a Tommy’s Lemonade.”

My guest today is my dear friend, Dawn Cermak. Dawn is a successful business owner of multiple businesses. She teaches women how to create a business and life they desire. About my Guest:
Dawn Cermak, who has been an entrepreneur for 32 years, and is currently building businesses 9, 10 & 11! She did not set out to be an entrepreneur, it happened purely by accident, but she is eternally grateful that it DID happen – as it has allowed her to design a life of total time and financial freedom, to live abroad in Barcelona and London with her children, while working her businesses.
Her first business was in database management, and her second business, and many of her early businesses were in the field of Special Events! Her sister/partner took care of the creative side, and she did the “CEO” stuff … and learned by DOING! She also “fell into” Network Marketing and is a multiple 7 Figure Earner with a health and wellness company. Surrounded by so many other “Accidental Entrepreneurs” in that field, she saw a huge need for business and tax education, in order for those entrepreneurs to maximize the profitability of their businesses, and, with her partner Jill, founded Hey Taxi in June 2020.
She is now an International Speaker, and also appears frequently on Summits and Podcasts. She shows business owners how to kick Imposter Syndrome to the curb, and step into being an Empowered CEO of their business, KEEP more of the money they work so hard to earn, and use it to design a life that delights them!
